Council have proclaimed April 5, 2014

            as Celebrate Families Day

 

We are kicking off Celebrate Families Day by sponsoring this 5K Run/Walk.  Families are encouraged to participate as the focus of the race is to strengthen the physical wellness of families.  Individuals are welcome to participate as well.

Course:  Flat, fast and certified.  (Same path as the Tiger 5K)

Entry Fees:  $10 by March 5, or $15 the day of the event.  T-shirts are assured to those who pre-register.

Early Packet Pick-up & Post Registration:  April 5, 2014 will be at 8:00 a.m.

Race Start Time:  9:00 a.m.

Special Awards will be given to the top three finishers along with the top 3 in each age group will receive a medal for both women (girls) and men (boys).

Gender Age Groups for awards:  7-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+                                

Those who are 6 and under are FREE, but will not be provided a t-shirt. 

 

Clothing:  Since this is a powder run we encourage you to wear the t-shirt provided or as much white as possible.  We also suggest you wear goggles or protective eyewear.  All participants need to be aware that although the powder is environmental safe as it is made of food dye and cornstarch, but that it may not come out of all objects or clothing (shoes, strollers, etc.).  So please take pre-cautions to protect those items. 

 

 

I know that running or walking in a road race is potentially a hazardous activity and that I should not enter unless I am medically able and properly trained.  I assume all risks associated with running/walking in this event.  Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of accepting my entry, I and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Jefferson West Middle School, USD 340, USD staff and personnel, JW FCCLA, Meriden City Council, the Township of Meriden, City of Meriden Police Department, all race volunteers and all sponsors, their representatives, employees and successors from any claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event or carelessness of the persons named in the waiver.  Further, I grant to all of the foregoing the right to use any photographs, motion pictures (video), recordings or any other record of this event for legitimate purposes.  I have noted any relevant medical conditions on this form.  My signature at the bottom of this form (if under 18 the signature of my guardian also) indicates my understanding of this waiver.
